Saturday Coffee Cafe - Books 'n Brew

Happy Saturday and welcome to the Cafe!  I'm so glad you stopped in today to see what's brewing...

I have a hard time just sitting to relax. I don't watch TV or take naps.  I'm always 'doing' something - even if it's 'doing' something that I find relaxing like crafting.  One of my favorite ways to relax is grabbing a fresh cup of coffee and a good book!  I recently finished reading "Washington's Immortals"  and just started "The Indispensables" - both by Patrick K. O'Donnell...and got to enjoy some awesome Kona coffee from Hawaii that my daughter brought back for me when she was vacationing there.

For my card, I embossed kraft cardstock with Altenew Organic Linen 3D Embossing Folder and adhered the piece to the cardbase.  How fun are these book, glasses and floral dies?!!  They are from SugarPea Designs Open Book dies and the cup is from SugarPea Designs Coffee Cuties dies.  The sentiment is STAMPlorations Good Books and Coffee.

Saturday Coffee Cafe - Coffee Friends

Hey, Coffee Lovin' Friends!! Happy Saturday and welcome to the Cafe!  I'm so glad you stopped in today to see what's brewin'....

Coffee and friends definitely warm the heart!  When I was a kid, I remember my mom and her friends getting together for coffee to chat and get caught up.  The kids would get hot chocolate or an egg cream (I'm from NY -- and gosh, I miss those!) and we would have our little 'coffee get-together' too.

These darling cups, mugs and coffee pot just make me happy!! The set I used is called COFFEE CUTIES from SugarPea Designs.   I cut pattern paper with the dies and acetate for the body of the coffee pot.  It was very fun putting together these happy cuties!

Cocoa & Marshmallows

It's been getting a little chilly here -- definitely time for hot cocoa!  I'm playing in this month's SugarPea Design Mix & Match challenge!

I'm using this darling SugarPea Design set: Mugs & Kisses!  I paper pieced the cups and added a touch of sparkle to the whipped cream and marshmallow guys' hats.  Those little marshmallows doing a cannonball into the hot cocoa just cracks me up!

For my slimline card, I cut black cardstock using Kat Scrappiness Slimline Cross Stitched and Slimline Never Ending Nesting dies to create the frame.  I then placed one of the patterns from the Trinity Stamps Black & White Slimline paper pad onto the back before adhering the frame to the card base.

These adorable coffee-loving rainbow gnomes are from SugarPea Designs Gnome for Christmas stamp set and coordinating dies!  The sentiment is from Miss Ink Brewtiful set.

Saturday Coffee Cafe - Coffee & Books

Happy Saturday and welcome to the cafe!  I'm so glad you decided to stop in today to see what's brewing! I recently purchased two new sets from two favorite companies -- they went so well together that I couldn't resist either one!

For my slimline card, I cut kraft cardstock using Divinity Designs Slimline Card Base die.  Taking a black check pattern paper, I cut out the panel using Divinity Designs Slimline Rectangles and cut two holes with Pink & Main Layering Circle dies making sure  that the openings were large enough for the images to be seen.  I adhered the cut pattern paper to the card base then selecting the Layering Circles that were one size down from the pattern paper openings, cut openings in the kraft paper.

Cutting white cardstock with the same size Divinity Design Rectangle die, I positioned it on the inside/left panel and marked where the circle openings were in order to stamp the images within those markings.  These super cute images are from Newton's Nook Sips & Stories set!   After stamping and coloring the images, I adhered to the inside/left panel of the card so the images were seen.

This adorable book, eyeglasses and flowers are from SugarPea Designs Open Book dies.

Hope you get to relax with a great cup of your favorite brew and a really good book!

National Iced Tea Day!

Happy National Iced Tea Day!  The Coffee Loving Cardmakers are thrilled to be collaborating with Super Sponsor SugarPea Designs on a super fun blog hop!  Leave comments along the way for a chance to win a $25 SugarPea Designs Gift Card, the more comments that you leave, the greater chance to win! Commenting closes on Saturday, June 15th at 11:59pm Pacific. Look for the winner announcement on the blog the following week.

For my first card, I layered green cardstock and two different pattern papers to the card base.  Using Reverse Confetti's See Through Tag die, I cut white and yellow cardstock to create a backdrop.  The 'iced tea' cup was made with SugarPea Designs Coffee to Go Dies and the 'ice cubes' are from MFT.  These adorable images and sentiment are from SugarPea Designs Pucker Up set.

I love iced tea!  My preference is green or black tea and unsweetened...hope my southern friends will forgive me as I know how much they love sweet tea!

My next card also features the SugarPea Designs Pucker Up set.  I first layered kraft and MFT pattern paper onto the card base.  As a backdrop, I cut white cardstock from Reverse Confetti's Stitched Hex Tag die.  The darling images are copic colored and I added some glaze on the pitcher and glass to look like condensation.

Hope you enjoy seeing the fabulous projects along the hop...and remember to leave a little love along the way!
