Saturday Coffee Cafe - Books 'n Brew

Happy Saturday and welcome to the Cafe!  I'm so glad you stopped in today to see what's brewing...

I have a hard time just sitting to relax. I don't watch TV or take naps.  I'm always 'doing' something - even if it's 'doing' something that I find relaxing like crafting.  One of my favorite ways to relax is grabbing a fresh cup of coffee and a good book!  I recently finished reading "Washington's Immortals"  and just started "The Indispensables" - both by Patrick K. O'Donnell...and got to enjoy some awesome Kona coffee from Hawaii that my daughter brought back for me when she was vacationing there.

For my card, I embossed kraft cardstock with Altenew Organic Linen 3D Embossing Folder and adhered the piece to the cardbase.  How fun are these book, glasses and floral dies?!!  They are from SugarPea Designs Open Book dies and the cup is from SugarPea Designs Coffee Cuties dies.  The sentiment is STAMPlorations Good Books and Coffee.

Saturday Coffee Cafe - Mocha Me Happy

Happy Saturday and welcome to the Cafe!  I'm so happy you decided to stop in today to see what's brewin'...

Super fun mugs definitely 'mocha' me happy!  Do you have a favorite coffee mug (or tea cup)?

For my card, I used images/sentiment from Dare 2b Artzy Latte Love Stamp Set.  I first embossed the word panel with Pink & Main Aquatini Embossing Powder and new Magic Anti-Static Brush.  To finish the background, I stamped the coffee stain image with Pink & Main Embossing/Watermark Ink Pad. The backdrop for the mugs was cut from red cardstock using Spellbinders Elegant Twist Circles.  I love these fun mug images which I copic colored and then added a glaze over top.

Saturday Coffee Cafe - Coffee Friends

Hey, Coffee Lovin' Friends!! Happy Saturday and welcome to the Cafe!  I'm so glad you stopped in today to see what's brewin'....

Coffee and friends definitely warm the heart!  When I was a kid, I remember my mom and her friends getting together for coffee to chat and get caught up.  The kids would get hot chocolate or an egg cream (I'm from NY -- and gosh, I miss those!) and we would have our little 'coffee get-together' too.

These darling cups, mugs and coffee pot just make me happy!! The set I used is called COFFEE CUTIES from SugarPea Designs.   I cut pattern paper with the dies and acetate for the body of the coffee pot.  It was very fun putting together these happy cuties!

It's a date...a COFFEE date!

Hi, Coffee Loving fans!  I'm really excited about our feature where each of the DT invite one of their friends for a crafting 'Coffee Date'!

I'm thrilled to have my good friend Melody Blake join me today!  Melody and I have been crafty friends for several years and we are also DT teamies with Divinity Designs.  BTW - Meldoy is crazy talented (she inspires me constantly) and has THE best sense of humor (her storytelling will leave you in stitches)!  Here's a little bit about Melody...

Hello!

I live in Ohio with my craft-enabling husband of 43 years!  Paper crafting became a passion of mine when our two sons were young, and I was introduced to scrapbooking!  Making cards soon followed, and after retiring from a 37 year career in education, I have had lots more time to craft and to collect crafting supplies!

Kathy and I met at Legacy Paper Arts in Powell, Ohio, while attending Ohio Stamp Junkie events.  I hope this pandemic comes under control soon so we can start crafting together once again with all of our talented, crafty friends!

Thank you so much, Kathy, for inviting me to be your “Coffee Date!”

We decided to each create a card based off the same sketch...

Here's Melody's beautiful card:

The supplies I used for my card are all from Dare 2B Artzy and include the Latte Love Stamp Set and the Be Frappe Stamp Set.  The dies used were the Frappe & Donut Die, the Circle Framelits, the Slim-Mini Snowflake Background Die, and the Rectangle Framelits.  The D2BA papers on my project were Penguin Plunge and That’s a Wrap.

Here's mine:

For my card, I used several patterns from Echo Park Farmhouse Kitchen for layering.  The fabulous images and sentiment are from an Ellen Hutson set called A Breve Note.

Hope you and a friend can get together for a crafty coffee date, too!

Let's Have Tea

There's something therapeutic in a cup of tea -- it's warm and soothing!  I created these sweet, little Pink & Main tea pockets that can be added to a card base or used as a gift tag to be tied to a pretty teacup or teapot!

Are you a coffee or tea lover?  Whichever is your favorite brew, be sure to join the fun in the Spring/Summer Coffee Loving Blog Hop!  Tons of inspiration and prizes from 73 Super Sponsors!!

For each pocket, I used the following Pink & Main products on all the projects:

For my card, I cut pink cardstock with one of the Stitched Rounded Rectangle dies and created a background using white ink, Petite Petals stencil (coming soon) and the Ergonmic Blending Brush.

The pockets were created by cutting pattern paper using one of the Stitched Rounded Square dies.  With one of the rounded edges pointing up, I folded in the right and left sides into the middle of the square using the tea bag I was using as a guide, then folded up the bottom.  Using coordinating cardstock, I cut each of the Stitched Top Note pieces and placed in the middle of the pockets and added the Tea-riffic images.
