Saturday Coffee Cafe - Tea Time

Happy Saturday and welcome to the Cafe!  I'm so glad you stopped by to see what's brewing....

I've been itching to get inky and finally got the chance!  I like to dabble in simple mixed media and this Honey Bee Stamps Teapot & Cup dies were perfect to play with.  I used Distress Oxide Faded Jeans and Chipped Sapphire inks plus Distress Mica Stain Harvest Moon plus lots of water spritzing.

The pretty little flowers and leaves are from Spellbinders Delicious Decorations dies.  I used Distress Oxide Fossilized Amber for the flowers and blended the edges with Distress Oxide Gathered Twigs. For the leaves, I used Distress Oxide Peeled Paint and edged them with Distress Oxide Forest Moss.

For the background, I used Altenew Organic Linen Embossing Folder and added the sentiment from Spellbinders Sentiments For You.

It's International Tea Day!

Happy International Tea Day!

Join the fun on the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog for lots of inspiration and surprises!!

Today I'm sharing one of my favorite TEA-themed cards I've made!

I was inspired by these pretty papers from Echo Park's Salon paper pad and I chose the gingham print for the background.  Using Mama Elephant's Tea Time die, I cut the floral pattern paper from the pad and Reverse Confetti's Salsa cardstock.  The cup and flowers are from retired MFT Stamps die sets.

To finish, I cut RC Flamingo cardstock with Pink & Main's Nested Hexagon Dies.  The 'tea' word die was cut from shiny gold cardstock using Spellbinders Cuppa Coffee dies.

Saturday Coffee Cafe - Comfort Me

Welcome to the Saturday Coffee Cafe!  I'm glad you stopped in today to see what's brewing!

Today (9/11) is a difficult day.  The need for comfort fills my heart and makes me think of my Grandmother.  She raised 10 children (a few during WWII), knew how to make meals out of almost nothing, hardly ever raised her voice (except when her Irish temper got triggered) and was my greatest advocate!  When I was a young girl, my Grandma and unmarried Aunt moved in to the apartment next door to us and it was such a blessing!  I spent every afternoon after school sipping tea and nibbling on Social Tea biscuits with her just chatting away about this and that.  She told me family stories, kept me up-to-date on her Soaps, gave me words of wisdom and called me her 'doll' (my cousins would disagree, but I know I was her favorite - lol!)  I always felt safe and at peace spending time with her and the comfort of her hugs were like being enveloped in Angels wings.

For my card, I layered coral cardstock onto the card base then a pattern paper from Echo Park Our Wedding.  The lace doily backdrop is Divinity Designs Delicate Doily die. The cup and wording are from retired (I think) Spellbinders Cuppa Coffee and But First Coffee.  I made the large tea bag using a tag die.

May you find peace and comfort today...maybe with a cup of tea.

Saturday Coffee Cafe - Tea Party!

Welcome to the Saturday Coffee Café!  I’m so glad you stopped by to see what’s brewin’ today!

Did you have tea parties with your friends (or toys) when you were a kid?  I used to love to play pretend and have festive tea parties with apple juice and cookies 😊

These little cuties from My Favorite Things Tea Party stamp set have gotten all dressed up and are ready for a super fun party!  I just love the sweet little mouse in the cup and perfect sentiment.

Hope you have a tea party kind of day!

Saturday Coffee Cafe - Relax & Enjoy

Happy Saturday and welcome to the Cafe -- I'm so glad you're here!  Grab your favorite caffeinated brew, take a load off, relax and see what's brewin' today....

I'll be honest with you guys...this card was redone three times!  I had something in my head, but for the life of me, I couldn't get it down onto cardstock. Ever have one of the those days?  I've been mojo challenged of late. It sort of comes and goes....mostly goes!  So, I decided to just let it go and see what happens!

Hence, this card!  I took a regular A2 card base and just folded the front in half.  I had created the hexagon shaker element for the first card...which didn't work and then didn't work with the second either, however, I decided I really liked it and it was going on this card!  Besides, I had redone the shaker element twice!  Funny, I found the perfect sentiment for the card and the answer to my mojo struggles from a beloved Verve stamp!

Hope you get to relax and enjoy this weekend!!

Saturday Coffee Cafe - Tea Garden

Hey, Coffee/Tea Lovers!  I'm so glad you stopped into the cafe today to see what's brewing!

Speaking of brewing, our family loves unsweetened iced black (or green) tea. I've usually bought pre-made at the grocery, but the brand we like seems to always be out of stock.  For the past few weeks, I've been brewing my own and it's so much better (and cheaper)!  Now we always have our favorite cold brew on hand!

For my card, I was inspired by these pretty papers from Echo Park's Salon paper pad and I chose the gingham print for the background.

Today my card was created with something old and something new!  I found this pretty paper in my stash (wish I knew what company it came from!) and the Stamplorations coffee word die.  The new item used is the Tonic Studios Shaker Creator - Tea/Coffee Cups.  It was super easy to put together and I filled it with an assortment of sequins I had on hand.

Now I'm heading back to my craft room to make more coffee/tea cards for the hop!
