Saturday Coffee Cafe - Happy Hour

Saturday, July 6, 2019

Welcome to the Saturday Coffee Café!  Come on in and sit for a while – there’s something ‘cool’ being served up today!

The weather went from pleasant to sweltering in a matter of hours!  Humidity like this usually doesn’t hit us until August, yet here it is.  The only thing to do is to try to keep cool and, for me, a tasty glass of iced tea does the trick (ok, a margarita would be better, but that’s for another post!)

For my card, I used several Pink & Main products.  To start, I layered kraft cardstock and two pattern papers onto the card base.  I then used one of the new Reverse Scallop Rectangle dies, cut from kraft cardstock, and place a piece of white cardstock behind it.  These yummy glasses of iced tea are from the new Happy Hour stamp set and coordinating dies.  To finish, I added the sentiment from Tea-rific and a few gold Glossy Dots.

For my first card, I layered Iced Aqua cardstock and one of the patterns in the new Sun & Sea paper pad onto a Cloud White cardstock card base. These incredibly darling images are from the new Hippo Pool Party set!  Check out that new Pool die...I just love it! To finish, I added cuts outs from the Sun 'n Clouds dies.

Today's sneak peeks feature some of the sweetest summer-inspired stamps, dies and papers.  What do you think so far?!

For my next card, I layered Dark Roast cardstock and one of the patterns in the Sun & Sea paper pad onto a Cloud White card base.  Using the new Bubbles die, I cut Buttercup and Rose cardstock and offset the die onto the card, trimming the edge flush.

I cut Cloud White cardstock with the Stitched Hex Tag and blended light blue and tan inks.  These darling images are from the new Lemonade Stand stamps/dies as is the sentiment.

But we're not done yet -- here's one more sneak peak!

I so love the beach!  It's a dream to retire close to the shore (and that's truly a dream because my husband has other ideas :).  At least I can have some 'fun in the sun' in my craft room!

For my last card today, I cut Cloud White cardstock using the Stitched Rays Cover Panel and blended yellow inks for the background and adhered to the card base.  For 'ocean' piece, I used distress oxide ink and cut the edge using the Pool die and the 'sand' is thin cork.  How darn cute are these images?!  The images and sentiment are from the new Let's Shellabrate stamps/dies!

Be sure to stop back tomorrow for the last day of sneak peeks!

Divinity Designs July Release - Ooh, Baby!

Monday, July 1, 2019

Oooh, Baby!  Divinity Designs new July Release is here and it is so adorable! Darling stamps and dies to create the sweetest baby cards and gifts plus two new 3D dies you'll love!

My first project is for a baby boy!  I started with the new Wide Surprise Box and Baby Boy Paper Pad.  This new box die is a perfect size and after put together, will fit in an A2 envelope!  I used the Double Stitched Stars dies cut from the Baby Boy Paper Pad to pop out of the box and added a few of the baby clothes found in the new Baby Clothesline Stamp/Die Duo set.  On the front, I stamped the sentiment from Bless This Baby stamp set and 'baby' word from the Baby Blessings die set.

My next projects are for a baby girl...

For the card, I cut dark brown cardstock using one of the Scalloped Rectangles dies and adhered to the card base.  Next, I cut soft pink cardstock using the Quilted Background die.  I then cut a piece of white cardstock and also a pattern from the new Baby Girl Paper Pad using the onsie die from the new Baby Blessings die set to create a 'card'; adding the bib, teddy bear, snaps and 'welcome baby' from the die set to the front.  I stamped a sentiment from the Bless This Baby set inside and adhered the onsie card to the card base.

For the next part of this gift ensemble, I used the new Candy Carrier die, Baby Blessings die set and paper from the Baby Girl paper pad to create the little chocolate nugget holder.  The Candy Carrier die set also contains a die for cutting out the candy wrapping!

To finish, I cut the tag with a pattern from the Baby Girl paper pad using a tag die in the Candy Caddy die set and stamping a sentiment from the Sweet Baby set.  The super cute pacifier was made with dies in the Baby Blessings die set.  I just adore these new stamps and dies!!

Here are the products I used in the projects above...

You'll want to stop by the Divinity Designs blog to view the entire release complete with video and special bundle offers!

Make Life Sparkle

Do you know someone who just makes life 'sparkle'?  That person who is always positive, makes people laugh and brightens up a room when they walk in.  I know a few folks like that -- they are an inspiration to me and I feel so blessed to have them in my life!

For my card, I began by cutting Lead cardstock with the Triangles Cover Plate, taking out a few of the triangles and adhering to the card base.  I then used the die to cut Stormy, Cloud White, Midnight and shiny gold cardstock and filled in the punched out triangles with those colors.

I gold embossed and copic colored the cake from the Cake & Champagne stamp set/coordinating dies.  The flowers and bows were stamped in Midnight, copic colored then popped up onto the cake.  To finish, I gold emboss the sentiment from the same set onto Midnight cardstock.

Thanks to these challenges for the inspiration and letting me share:
