Divinity Designs September DT Color Challenge

Saturday, September 14, 2019

Happy Saturday!  Each month, the Divinity Designs team is challenged to create a project with a new color combo.  This month's colors were inspired by those found in The Christmas Collection 2019 paper pad!

I'm a fan of non-traditional Christmas colors or variations of red/green.  These beautiful colors screamed Christmas to me!

For my card, I started by cutting lime green cardstock with the Half Shutter Card with Layers dies for the card base.  Using the layers dies in the set, I cut papers from The Christmas Collection 2019 paper pad.  On the back panel, I cut pink paper from the pad with one of the Scallop Circle dies for a backdrop to the Merry Christmas Stamp/Die Duo (poinsettia).  I love this large poinsettia stamp!

On the front of the card, I used papers from the same pad cut with the Peaceful Poinsettia dies and Pine Branch dies.

To finish, I added the sentiment using the Merry Christmas Caps dies and black cardstock.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Divinity Designs Cocoa & Coffee Christmas

Friday, September 13, 2019

Have I shared how excited I am about Divinity Designs September release?!!  Cocoa and Coffee...it's like Christmas to me!

For my card, I cut a pattern from the Patriotic Collection Paper Pad and adhered to the card base.  Using one of the Squares Dies, I cut a red striped pattern from the new America The Beautiful Paper Pad and cut brown paper from the Latte Love paper pad using one of the Scalloped Squares Dies.

I then used the new Cocoa and Coffee Dies to create the festive cups of cocoa!  To finish, I stamped one of the sentiments from the new Perk Up Stamp/Die Duos and cut it into a rectangle using the Rectangles Dies and Scalloped Rectangles Dies.

Forever In My Heart

Wednesday, September 11, 2019

I can't recall what I did yesterday, but eighteen years ago today at approx. 9 am, I know exactly where I was.  I came out of our weekly Tuesday operations meeting and the office was eerily quiet.  It wasn't long before someone said, "a plane hit the World Trade Center".   With shock and disbelief, I called my mom to see if she heard anything from our family in NY - three of my cousins worked a block from there (thank God, they were safe. However, one of my cousins, a police officer, passed away last year from lung problems stemming from 9/11).

I will forever in my heart pray for and remember... those who lost their lives that day - and since; the strength, tenacity and incredible courage of the NYFD, NYPD, and my fellow New Yorkers; the resilience of those at the Pentagon; and the ultimate sacrifice and incredible bravery of the passengers and crew of Flight 93.  Never forget.

For my card, I first layered a strip of pattern paper from the Summer Splash paper pad and stamped a sentiment from the Forever In My Heart set.  I then cut purple cardstock using one of the Reverse Rectangles Dies to form a frame.

The flowers and jar are from the Pretty Jars set and the sentiment is from Forever In My Heart cut with one of the Sentiment Strip dies.

While nothing will make the events of 9/11 'better', there were extraordinary heroics and a 'coming together' for the good of many that day and in the days following. May we all project positive vibes for peace today and in the future.

Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember: Reverse Confetti

Monday, September 9, 2019

Reverse Confetti is thrilled to be part of Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember celebration!!

Our exclusive set, Wonderful You, is elegant and versatile.  Perfect for all seasons and all occasions!

For my card, I began by cutting Premier Cloud White cardstock with the new Stitched Circles Cover Panel from the new Holiday Release.  I then cut Dark Roast cardstock using the See Through Tag die, slipped the Wonderful You leaves through the top opening and placed the circle cut from the center of the tag off to the side.

I stamped the sentiment onto Bumblebee cardstock cut from one of the Tag Duo dies and cut off the one end.  The sentiments in this set are wonderful and the font is so cool!
