Snow Snuggable

Thursday, December 20, 2018

I've so enjoyed guesting with Whimsy Stamps over the last several months - thank you, Whimsy Stamps, for having me!  For my last Guest project, I couldn't resist using this wonderful Bundled Up Amped2Stamp set designed by Deb Davis!

For my card, I went with a soft winter look.  First layering a pale blue cardstock onto the base, I then created the background by using the Pinwheels Stencil and Nuvo Embellishment Mousse in Mother of Pearl and cutting out a circle. Can I just say I love this stencil!  It reminds me of snow, but I can also see 'sparklers' for New Years and July 4th!

Within the circle, I stamped the trees from the Bundled Up Amped2Stamp set and cut some shimmery white cardstock for the 'snow'.  I can't get enough of these super sweet images that were copic colored and fussy cut.  For the sentiment, I used one of the dies in the Card Builders Window Die set to cut pale blue cardstock.

Wishing all of you a very blessed Christmas and Happy New Year!

A Winter Hello

Wednesday, December 19, 2018

Hello and Happy Holidays!  Hope you are able to enjoy some festivities during this special season -- and get some fun crafting in, too!

For my card, I started by cutting red cardstock with one of the Stitched Rectangle Set 1 Dies and adhering to the base.  For the backdrop, I wove several strips of patterns from the Jolly paper pad then die cut with one of the Top Note dies and added the light green cardstock bow created with the Medium Bow Dies. The darling little snowman is from the Snow Sweet stamp set/coordinating dies and I cut black cardstock with one of the Stitched Circle dies to place behind him.  The pretty snowflakes - also from Snow Sweet - were stamped, popped up and I added Glossy Dots in the centers.  To finish, I cut the 'hello' word die from the Wreath Base Die from black cardstock.

Magical Season

Monday, December 17, 2018

The Christmas season does seem magical...if you look for it with the eyes of a child.  The pretty lights, festive decorations, yummy treats...it's kinda magical!

As an adult during this season, I sometimes forget to enjoy the little things that make the season bright and bring joy.  We've had some difficulties as of late which is making it a challenge to feel festive, but Christmas comes once a year as does the things I've always enjoyed like listening to carols, wrapping gifts, watching Christmas movies and, of course, creating holiday cards! These sweet gnomes do make me smile!

For my card, I cut Premier Polar White cardstock with the All Framed Up Confetti Cuts for the frame and adhered to the card base.  The gnomes and sentiment are from the Holiday Gnomes stamp set.  I used the coordinating dies to cut out the images after copic coloring them and popping them up on the card base.

Thanks to these challenges for the inspiration:

Hope you take the time to see and experience the magic of this holiday season!

Paper Sweeties 25 Days of Christmas

Saturday, December 15, 2018

I'm so excited to be a guest designer for Paper Sweeties 25 Days of Christmas!  From December 1-25, a different designer will be sharing their Paper Sweeties creations!

For my card I layered red cardstock and a snowflake pattern paper onto the cardbase.  Using one of the Square Scallop Frame dies, I cut black cardstock for the frame and a green pattern paper for the center.  Who can resist this darling Let It Snow outfit Sweeties Girl Abigail is wearing?! Her outfit is paper pieced and I added glitter to her hat, collar and coat cuffs.  The sentiment is also from the Let It Snow set.

Wishing you and yours a blessed holiday season!

National Cocoa Day with The Stamps of Life

Thursday, December 13, 2018

Happy National Cocoa Day!!  To celebrate, the Coffee Loving Cardmakers are collaborating with The Stamps of Life with a super fun blog hop! You've just come from the amazing Dana Warren's blog...

Be sure to stop by each Designer's blog (full list on the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog) by December 20th and leave a comment to win a $25 gift certificate!  Winner will be announced on the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog at 9:00 am Eastern on December 22nd.

For my first project, I created a tiered card.  I first layered woodgrain pattern paper onto the base.  Using the Hot Chocolate dies, I cut different Christmas-y pattern papers and for the whipped cream cut glittery cardstock.  The spoons were cut from shiny gold cardstock and tied with gingham ribbon.  You can't have cocoa without marshmallows!  These images plus and sentiment are from the hotchocolate2stamp set!

For my next project, I created a fun, shaker card!

Inside the shaker, I first stamped the sentiment from the hotchocolate2stamp then placed the marshmallow images from the
same set and added clear sequins.

I love the Hot Chocolate dies!  There are 'outline' dies included for some of the shapes - including the cup - which I used here and I really like the look.  Again, I cut the whipped cream from white glitter cardstock, the 'steam' was cut from vellum and the spoons from shiny silver cardstock.

Hope you enjoy the hop and get lots of inspiration!  Remember to leave a comment along the way -- good luck!!  Next on the hop is the remarkably talented Lisa Bzibziak...

Gingerbread Man Wreath

Wednesday, December 12, 2018

Christmas will soon be here!  I do love this season and the beautiful lights and decorations.  Over the years, I've scaled down decorating and keep it pretty simple -- just like my card I'm sharing today!

For my card, I cut white cardstock with the Eyelet Cover Die and adhered it to the cardbase.  Using the Wreath Basic die, I cut dark and light green cardstock, offset the two wreaths and layered on top of the cover.  The sweet little gingerbread men contained in the Winter Wreath Decor Dies set were cut from kraft cardstock. and I used a black glaze pen for the eyes and white pen for the buttons then popped them up along the red baker's twine.  The red bow and green sprigs were cut from dies also in the Winter Wreath Decor Dies set.  The Merry Christmas sentiment can be found in the Christmas Mugs set.
