Saturday Coffee Cafe - Cuppa Cactus

Saturday, August 4, 2018

Welcome to the Saturday Coffee Café.  I’m so glad you stopped in today!

The cactus and succulent craze is still going strong.  I have to admit, these are the only plants that have any hope to survive with my brown thumb 😊  I guess you need to water plants…who knew?!  My daughter loves cactus and succulents and is able to keep them alive, growing and beautiful.  When she takes them back to school, I’ll be enjoying my ‘fake’ ones and I think the cactus (or is it cacti) are grateful for that!

These cactus, however, will live forever thanks to Lil Inker Designs!   For my card, I layered a bright pink cardstock and a pattern paper design from Lil Inker Designs So Prickly Paper pack.  I added a piece of kraft cardstock to the bottom and cut a dark brown cardstock using one of the Pink & Main Stitched Circle dies.

I then used Lil Inker Designs Coffee Talk 2 die set to cut another pattern paper from the So Prickly Paper pack and cut green, pink and brown cardstock using this darling So Prickly Cactus dies!  I stamped one of the sentiments from the Coffee Talk 2 stamp set onto another pattern paper from the So Prickly Paper pack.

Coffee Loving Cardmakers and Our Daily Bread Designs

Friday, August 3, 2018

The Coffee Loving Cardmakers are so excited to be collaborating with Our Daily Bread Designs for a super caffeine fueled bloghop!!

Kathy Schweinfurth – YOU ARE HERE

For my first project, I started by using ODBD Tri-Shutter Card Die for the base covering the panels with pattern designs from the Latte Love 6x6 Paper Pad.  The coffee cups and sentiment are from a wonderful coffee themed set:  Hug In A Mug (stamp/die duo set)!

My next project was super fun to create!  I used the Timeless Tote and Timeless Tote Layers dies plus pattern paper from the Latte Love 6x6 Paper Pad to create this adorable tote.  I added the coffee cup image with sentiment from the Hug In A Mug set as a tag.  I placed one of the side pocket dies from the tote set onto the little card - a perfect place to tuck in a Starbucks gift card!

Great news!  Our Daily Bread Designs is having a sale beginning today through August 10!!

The code is valid from August 3rd - 10th, and is valid on the purchase of ODBDNCC and AO stamp sets, Custom Dies and Paper Collections on the ODBD Website when you enter the code coffee in the discount codes area.  Please note that Bundles are NOT included in this sale.

I Do!

Wednesday, August 1, 2018

Happy August!  Where is the summer going?  We have a super busy August between family visits, work trips and my daughter going back to college.  At work, we also have one of our team members who is getting married! What's on your August calendar?  I hope it has room for joining the new Reverse Confetti Stock Your Stash challenge!  This month's theme:  Weddings.

For my card, I placed a piece of Rose cardstock on the card base.  I cut Premier Polar White cardstock with the Big Stripes Cover Panel die, placed a piece of white netting over the center, sprinkled in some sequins and covered with the white center circle cut out before adhering the die cut cover onto the Rose cardstock/base.

The flowers are from the new Elegant Florals stamp set and coordinating dies.  The larger floral spray was gold embossed on Premier Polar White cardstock and the smaller roses were stamped in Dark Roast ink.  The sentiment, from the Celebrations stamp set, was stamped on velum which was cut using the banner die from Flowers For Mom Confetti Cuts.
