Whimsy Stamps Halloweeners & Giveaway!

Friday, October 26, 2018

The Halloween fun continues with Whimsy Stamps 31 Nights of Halloween Blog Celebration and I have an exciting giveaway to announce today (see details a bit further down this post)!!

So - what are YOU going as for Halloween?  My costume usually consists of pj pants with a candy corn design, a black or orange sweatshirt and candy corn fluffy slippers - perfect for sitting in the driveway to hand out candy!  These adorable Halloweeners are all ready for Trick or Treat and look fab-BOO-lous!

For my first card, I created a batty background sponging white ink onto black cardstock using the Halloween Creatures Stencil.  I then cut bright green cardstock using the new Peekaboo Window 2 Die for the squares and bottom strip.  The cute mummys and bats are from the Halloweeners set.  I stamped the 'haunted' word from the You're My Boo set onto orange cardstock and fussy cut.

 It's Giveaway Time!

The winner of the giveaway will receive the choice of one Peekaboo Window Die!!

Commenting has closed.  Come back tomorrow morning for the winner!

On to my next card...with the bright green Peekaboo Window 2 Die 'frame' left over from the first card, I layered it onto purple cardstock and then cut black cardstock with the window die for the squares.  These super cute images and sentiment are from the Halloweeners set which I copic colored and popped up on the card.

Hope you'll hop along for some SPOOKtacular prizes, BOO-tiful projects and FRIGHTful fun!

Christmas Cutie

It's a day to celebrate -- the October Pink & Main Release is now available in the store!!  Hope you've been enjoying the sneak peeks the design team has been sharing.  Be sure to keep checking out the Pink & Main blog for daily inspiration!

For my card today, I first layered shiny gold cardstock to the cardbase.  I then used the new Eyelet Cover Die to cut white cardstock then red cardstock; inlaying the red 'petals' into the white cover.

The bright green bow was stamped with the new Bowtiful stamp set using On The Green ink pad, cut out with the coordinating die and to finish, I added a Silver Glossy Dot.

This adorable snowman is from the Snow Sweet stamp set and cut with the coordinating dies.  For the words, I used the Merry Christmas Dies; cutting vellum with the outside die and black cardstock for the words.

Sew Perfect

Monday, October 22, 2018

Many years ago, I and several others moved to Ohio from NY with a company.  We were all pretty young and terribly homesick (and missing pizza, egg creams and knishes!)  The group started a bowling league, we had cookouts and celebrated birthdays together. One gal, Debbie, and I struck up a friendship and we decided to take sewing classes at a local Singer store.  While our friendship has lasted 38 years, our sewing hobby, well...that only lasted a few years:)

These adorable new Pink & Main goodies reminded me of Debbie and my sewing adventure! My cards today feature the new Sewing stamp set and coordinating dies and Quilt Die both available in the new release on October 25th.

For the first card, I cut a pattern from Pumpkin Spice pattern paper with one of the Stitched Rectangle Set 1 dies for the background.  With the new Quilt Die, I cut dark brown cardstock for the 'frame' and then cut several patterns from Pumpkin Spice pattern paper, and inlaid the pieces into the 'frame'.

These sweet sewing images were embossed with WOW Metallic Gold Rich embossing powder and popped up with foam dots.

My next card follows the same recipe as the first, but I changed the colors using a dark brown cardstock for the base and cut ivory cardstock with the Quilt Die for the 'frame'.

The sentiments in the Sewing stamp set go so perfectly with the stamp set images.  My friend, Debbie, is going to get a kick out of receiving this one!
