Paper Sweeties You Warm My Heart
Tuesday, January 16, 2018
As I write this post, it's a 'balmy' 17 degrees and I'm bundled up in a sweatshirt and blanket! Thankfully, I've got a warm cup of java to warm me!

I hope one of your resolutions is to make time for yourself and get a little creative! STAMPlorations has just the thing to help too...there's plenty of time to play in the January challenges including this month's CUTplorations challenge! All the details can be found HERE (psst - you can win prizes!)
Out of This World Birthday
For my card, I embossed the base with a stars embossing folder. I created the galaxy/sky background with distress oxide inks then colored and fussy cut this sweet little astronaut from My Favorite Things Space Explorer set. The sentiment from this set is white embossed.
Thanks to these challenges for the inspiration:
Let It Snow
With the temps holding steady in the single digits, I think the 3-4 inches of snow isn't going anywhere any time soon! I really dislike the cold and snow, but looking around the country, it isn't 'warm' any place. Guess it's the perfect excuse to just stay indoors ...specifically, my craft room!
One of my craft goals is to try new things. I just played around making this shaker and 'altering' a background die. The other 'new' thing, was taking the photos differently. I'm so in awe of people who can take pictures from above vs. straight on. I'll need to keep practicing!
For my card, I started with a background created with distress oxide inks. I used Avery Elle's Waves background die cutting off the waves in the top part and placing a piece of acetate so I could create a shaker. The sweet little penguins (who actually like the snow!) are from Reverse Confetti S'more Love set. The Let It Snow word die is STAMPlorations.

Paper Sweeties - Baby, It's COLD Outside
To say it's 'cold outside' is an understatement! Like many across the US, temps have been extreme (it was 57 degrees on Thursday and today it's 19!) There's about 4-6" of the white stuff on the ground, too. Thank goodness, I can stay in jammies and play in my craft room all day - yay, me!
Although Paper Sweeties may not have a January release, be ready to see a few blasts from the past projects featuring winter and Valentine's Day over the next few days. Be sure to check out the frosty and LOVEly projects the Design Team has to share (see list below).
For my card, Sweeties Girl Emma is ready for the chilly temps in her pretty Let It Snow outfit. I love the delicate heart boarder from the Sweet Borders Sweet Cuts collection. The smaller Rectangle Scallop Frame die cut perfectly frames the sentiment.
Check back tomorrow for more Paper Sweeties inspiration!

There's always two sides to every story (actually, there are 3 - yours, mine and the truth - so they say)! Stamps can be like that as well. And that's the premise for Darnell's new Twofer challenge! Given a theme, we're challenged to create two different occasion cards using the same stamp. Such a great idea to stretch not only your imagination, but to stretch the uses for stamps! For my cards, I used Reverse Confetti Boho Vibes (feathers).
For my first card, I created a watercolor triangle and splattered the white side. The group of Boho Vibes feathers are stamped in Wisteria, Dark Roast and Flamingo. The other feather is silver heat embossed. For the 'thank you' sentiment, I used the new Kindness Cards stamps/dies.
I'm excited to share my card in these additional challenges:
Valentine's Day is a month away and I'm already behind! Not that I send a ton of V-day cards, but I do have a few plus little 'gifts' for co-workers. This card was super easy to create!
I started with Reverse Confetti Topped Off Tag die using the Heart Tag Topper die. The feathers and arrow from the Boho Vines set are grouped together with Cappuccino twine. Both the heart tag topper and row of hearts are cut from Piggy Bank and Salsa cardstock. The hearts border die is from the XOXO dies collection and sentiment from the new Heart Filled Sentiments set.
