Simply Succulents

Sunday, September 24, 2017

I'm so glad the succulents are 'all the rage'.  Not only because they are beautiful and unique, but because they don't need a lot of water to grow (a green thumb I have not!)  My daughter got my husband and I on the succulent wagon and now that's the only plants (real and fake) that we have around the house!

For my card, I used these wonderful succulent stamps/dies from Altenew called Indoor Garden.  I'd been holding off buying them, but couldn't wait any longer and bought it a couple weeks ago...I'm SO glad I did!  The sentiment is also from Altenew in the Faithful Feather set.

Hello!

Saturday, September 23, 2017

September is flying.  It seems that fall always seems to go faster than any time of the year for some reason.  Maybe because there's so many things to celebrate...like when the kids go back to school :)  My daughter is in college and I miss those days of getting "the list" of school supplies and school clothes (a folder and leggings took care of that this year!)  Still, it's a new school year filled with lots of learning to say 'hello' to!

For my card I used the Reverse Confetti Hello Square Confetti Cuts cut from Brick cardstock.  The sweet worm, ruler, pencils and apples are from the Worm Wishes stamp set and coordinating dies.

Big Hugs

We all need a big hug every once in a while.  Last week a group of my dear friends got together and we hadn't seen each other in a long time.  There were LOTS of big hugs going around and it was wonderful!  Hope you get a big hug today!

For this simple card, I used several Distress Oxide inks to create the background.  The Big Hugs die and sweet little squirrels (Nuts About You) are from Neat & Tangled.

Floral Silhouette

After a busy week, I wanted to create something simple like a one layer card.  What was I thinking?  One layer is such a challenge for me and probably took twice as long to make - why is that?!   But it was great 'loose myself' time and that's all that matters :)

For my card, I started with a color wash background with distressed inks.  I stamped these pretty Hero Arts (Real Flowers set) flowers to create a silhouette look and then inlaid the Beautiful die (STAMPlorations) cut from gold cardstock.

Coffee and Good Night!

Coffee. Fall.  Bloghop.  More coffee.   Need I say more?  We're in the final hour or so of the Fall Coffee Lovers Bloghop and this is my last card of the hop (and the night!).  What an amazing week filled with so much inspiration and excitement!  Special, special thanks to Amy Tsuruta and Chaitali Narla for ALL their very hard work -- we love you!

For my card, I chose to do a simple coffee theme using some wonderful stamps from Sugar Pea Designs that pretty much depict my moto - Coffee is always a good idea!

What's Your Desk Looking Like?

Whew!  There's just a couple more hours left before the Fall Coffee Lovers Bloghop comes to a close.  What a BLAST!  And speaking of blast...my desk does look like a fall coffee explosion occurred on my desk :)   I decided to grab some things laying on my desk to create another card!

Let's see what I got here...The leaves are from Reverse Confetti, the cup/coffee pot are STAMPloratons, the coffee beans are Paper Smooches and the sentiment from Altenew!  What's laying around on your desk?

Whimsical Fall

Friday, September 22, 2017

I went a little whimsical for a fall card (about as whimsical as I get) using this sweet mushroom printed pattern paper.  The color combo is not one I would have thought to put together, but I kinda like them for a different fall look.

These cute coffee cups and sentiment are from a wonderful set by Joy Clair: Coffee Lovers. The tag die is Papertrey Ink Tag Sale #3.
