Sweet Watercolor Birthday

Thursday, June 8, 2017

After getting home from being away for a few days, the first thing I needed to do (after laundry!) was get in my craft room and create a little!  I've been wanting to play with this Concord & 9th set (Happy Day) and today seemed like a good day to do so!

I gold embossed the floral cake image and watercolored using a few of my favorite colors.  I added a few small sequins and used clear Wink of Stella on the icing for a hint of sparkle.

Thanks to these challenges for the inspiration:

A new challenge on the block!!!
(I selected the diagonal: heat embossing, free space, gold)

Happy Little Stampers JUNE Christmas Challenge

Sunday, June 4, 2017

Welcome back for a new Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge!!  Our challenges are Anything Goes, but each month there is an optional twist.  This month's twist:  TREES.

Summer is here!  This is actually the time I get into full gear making my holiday cards - seriously, I do!  That way, I can focus on creating other gifts and getting my house ready for the holidays starting the day after Thanksgiving :)

Hope you'll join this month's Christmas challenge and get a jump on your cards, too!

For my card, I used these brush tree images from Papertrey Ink...they remind me of decorations we had when I was a little girl.

I'm really looking forward to seeing your gorgeous creations.  There's also a $20 HLS discount up for grabs for the winner!

Life Is Just a Bowl of Cherries

Thursday, June 1, 2017

Summer is here!  One of the best parts about summer is the great selection of fruit -- like cherries -- yum!!  Today starts a new Paper Sweeties Inspiration Challenge.  You can use the inspiration photo or go with whatever them you'd like!

Our challenges are always Anything Goes and you don't need to use Paper Sweeties products -- all are welcome!  You can link your submission from the Paper Sweeties Blog or on our Facebook page.  There's a $25 gift certificate up for grabs for this month's winner!

For my card, I started with a country gingham pattern paper.  The cherries background was created by white embossing the cherry image from the Homegrown stamp set and watercoloring.  I then highlighted the colored cherry image by placing it in the Square Scallop Sweet Cuts piece.  To finish, I added the die cut word "Sweet" from Happy Sweet Cuts.

You won't want to miss the fabulous projects the rest of the Design Team has to share!
