Hearts & Flowers

Friday, January 11, 2019

Next to chocolate, Valentine's Day makes me think of hearts and flowers. Have you started on any Valentine's Day cards or gifts?  I had an idea in mind before starting this card -- it came out somewhat what I was thinking :)  All images and dies are from Reverse Confetti's new January release!

I cut Stormy cardstock with the Diagonal Stitches Cover Panel and adhered to the card base.  I then cut different colored cardstock using the Patterned Hearts Dies.  The delicate flowers are part of the Happy Bee Day stamp set and were cut with the coordinating dies.  The sentiments, from the Patterned Hearts stamp set, were white embossed on Midnight cardstock.

Thanks to these challenges for the inspiration...

Catherine Pooler Stamp of Approval: The Key

Have you checked out Catherine Pooler Designs January Stamp of Approval Collection: Adoring You yet?!  It's filled with incredible goodies and endless creating possibilities!

A special THANK YOU to Catherine Pooler for giving me the opportunity to play with several of the sets in this collection and share my creations with you!

Today's cards feature:

If you haven't tried Catherine Pooler inks yet, all I can say is there is a new fan here!  Check out this resource for all the great features of these inks!

For my first card, I created a background by smearing the Tutti Fruiti stamp pad onto my craft mat, spritzing the ink on the mat with water, then dabbing white cardstock into the wet ink.  I then blended Tiki Torch over the entire background creating the result you see here.  I split the inked background into three sections; using two on my first card and one section on the next project.  I stamped the images and sentiment from The Key stamp set from the Adoring You Collection in Midnight ink.  The top key was stamped on kraft paper and fussy cut.

For my next card, I white embossed several of the key images onto black cardstock (and one of these days, I'll figure out how to white emboss on black cardstock without getting so many 'roaming' white speckles on my card - lol!)  I then stamped one of the heart images from The Key stamp set, cut them out and then arranged them.  As I said above, I used one of the background sections on this card and stamped one of the sentiments from The Key stamp set.

Catherine Pooler January Stamp of Approval: Happy Together

Thursday, January 10, 2019

Catherine Pooler Designs January Stamp of Approval Collection: Adoring You is here!  Hope you've been enjoying all the sneak peeks of the goodies included in this wonderful collection.  I'm really excited to have had the opportunity to play with a few of the new sets!!

For both cards featured today, I used these products:

For my first card, I stamped the branch image in Icing On The Cake ink then did the leaves in Lime Rickey and leaf detail image in Midnight.  These sweet birds were stamped in different colors from the Party Collection and the detail in Midnight.

Ok, so I had not tried Catherine Pooler inks before working with the new Stamp of Approval sets.  I, obviously, live a very sheltered life.  These inks are fabulous! Check out this resource for all the great features of these inks!  On my second card, I blended the inks for the background and then spritzed water for a water-resist look!  I then stamped the birds and branch in Midnight and drew a line with a black glaze pen.  The 'moon' was cut from silver glitter cardstock and the sentiment was silver embossed.

Reverse Confetti January Release Blog Hop

Tuesday, January 8, 2019

Yippee!!  Today is Reverse Confetti January Release Day and Blog Hop!!  All the products you've seen in the last few days are now available in the store :)!

Kathy Schweinfurth – You Are Here

For my first card, I cut Smoky cardstock using the new Hex Cover Panel and adhered to the card base then cut Sunshine cardstock using the cover plate inserting the hexagon shapes into the base.  The jar, flowers, bee images (copic colored) and sentiment (stamped on vellum) are from the new Bee Happy stamp set with coordinating dies.

For my next project, I created a simple, easy CAS card.  I have to admit, I wanted to add other images from the new release, but sometimes keeping it simple works fine too!

I first layered one of the patterns from the new From Cupid Paper Pad and a strip of Dark Roast cardstock to the card base.  For the background, I used Rose reinker on watercolor paper then used the new Hello Lovely die to cut the center.  The Dark Roast peeks out from behind the die cut words.  To add a little dimension, I adhered the rounded parts of the 'e' and 'o' and highlighted with a white gel pen adding a few sequins too.

Hope you'll hop along to see what the other designers and guests are sharing today and, of course, check out all the newness in the Reverse Confetti store!

In case you may have missed my other projects created for the January Release, here's a recap!  Do you have a favorite -- I'd love to know!

I created three sweet Valentine's Day gifty items perfect to give to teachers, co-workers, kids and other special people in your life!

For my first project, I created a tag that I attached to a jar filled with candy.  The tag was made by first cutting Salsa cardstock and a pattern from the new From Cupid Paper Pad using the Grid Stitched Tag die then adding the hanger cutting Piggy Pink cardstock using one of the Hang Ups Too dies.  I used the Criss Cross Cover Panel to cut Piggy Pink cardstock then cut out the heart using one of the new Pattern Hearts dies.  This cute little puppy is from the new Heart Pals stamp set and coordinating dies; the sentiment is from the new Love You Most stamp set.

Next, this little gift bag (found at the dollar store) is great to use to tuck in a gift certificate, treats, little crafty items (for those special crafty friends), etc.  The tag was created by first cutting a pattern from the new From Cupid Paper Pad using the Topped Off Tag die; the top was cut from Salsa cardstock using the coordinating Heart Tag Toppers die.  The heart shape was cut from Salsa cardstock using one of the new Pattern Hearts dies.  This adorable kitty is another image in the Heart Pals stamp set with coordinating dies as is the sentiment.

Wrapping up a candy bar makes for an easy sweet treat!  I first wrapped a piece of Dark Roast cardstock around the Hershey bar.  Then using the Diagonal Stitches Cover Panel, cut Piggy Pink cardstock and wrapped a strip of it over the Dark Roast cardstock then layered a small strip of a pattern from the From Cupid Paper Pad.  The tag was created cutting Rose cardstock using one of the dies in the Scalloped Bag and Tags Creator and a sentiment from the Love You Most stamp set.  How darling is this little bear image from the Heart Pals stamp set?!

For my last project today, I cut Premier White cardstock using the Diagonal Stitches Cover Panel then blended several distress oxide ink colors to create the background.  The new Big Bear stamp set with coordinating dies is too darn cute and the sentiments are simply perfect!

This set is really versatile for many occasions.  The die for the big bear cuts around his/her arms making it simple to add any of the little images: bouquet, heart, envelope, coffee cup, knitting, wagon or dog's leash!

I know the Big Bear set is going to be a 'go to' for me as is the Diagonal Stitches Cover Plate!!
