Two Is Better Than One

Making the most out of my craft products makes me feel better about having so many!  Hey, at least I'm getting value out of things, right? (ok, I'm trying to justify purchases - work with me here!)

I found real value in Reverse Confetti's Wonky Stripe Panel tonight using it in two totally different ways.  Thanks to the Twofer Card Challenge for the inspiration!

For my first card, I layered a pattern paper design from the Free Spirit paper pad to the card base.  First, I cut Premier Polar White and a few other colors of cardstock with the Wonky Stripe Panel die creating the backdrop.  The darling bear, apples and sentiment are from the Honey Bear stamp set and coordinating die; the apple was created with the All Apples Confetti Cuts; and the Pencil is from Worm Wishes stamp set and coordinating dies.  Thanks to these challenges for inspiring this card design:

For my next card, I created a distress oxide ink sky/sunrise background then layered a strip of pattern paper from the Cue The Confetti pad.  Using the Wonky Stripe Panel, I cut Dark Roast and Stormy cardstock and created mountains - tipped with white cardstock for "snow".  The adorable moose, North Pole sign, sentiment and snowflakes are from Merry Christmoose stamp set and coordinating die.

  1. Hey, what you said makes sense to me, Kathy! I'm glad you are enthusiastic about the concept of the challenge to stretch our goodies and our design skills! You certainly did that with these two fabulous and darling cards! You have such a talent for layering your sweet elements so they flow together and never look overdone! I love the wonky triangle stripe die (I'm enabled!) as a colorful background for your super cute teacher card and as a very clever snowy mountain range on your Christmoose card!! Fantastic out-of-the-box thinking!! Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #8! Hugs, Darnell

  2. Your preaching to the choir here, no justification needed! I love your Twofer designs - so different and each fantastic! Those triangles look great as a background for your bear bearing apples for the teacher. I love the colors too! Those snow capped mountains are too cute for that wonderful moose and his wintery Christmas scene! Thanks for joining in the fun with us at the Twofer Card Challenge!

What a cool, graphic background for that sweet, apple bearing bear ... and such a clever idea to turn the triangles into mountains for your fun, Moose-y Christmas card, an adorable scene!
